Women's T20 World Cup: England set for semi-final action

England face South Africa in the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup this evening (6.30pm).

Derbyshire Women & Girls Pathway graduate, Danni Wyatt-Hodge, comes into the game as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, with 282 at an average of 94. Spinners, Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean have combined for 15 wickets and will be crucial to England’s chances.

Having overcome Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand and West Indies, England must now face South Africa, boosted by the return of captain Nat Sciver-Brunt from injury.

The winner will take on Australia in the final at Lord’s on Sunday.

Having already done battle at the ICC T20 World Cup, England and Ireland go head-to-head in Metro Bank One-Day International at The Central Co-op County Ground on Thursday 3 September.
