Bashir named in England Test squad

Derbyshire spinner, Shoaib Bashir, has been named in the England squad for the opening two matches of the Rothesay Test series against Pakistan, starting this month. 

Bashir has claimed 16 wickets in the Rothesay County Championship so far this season, having played a key role in Derbyshire’s promotion challenge in Division Two.

The 22-year-old has 71 Test wickets to his name, including four five-wicket hauls, and will be a part of the squad for the first two Tests against Pakistan, who themselves will field Derbyshire’s Muhammad Abbas.

The series begins at Headingley on Wednesday 19 August.
