Andrews named in Under 19s World Cup squad

Derbyshire Women & Girls Pathway graduate, Maria Andrews, has been named in the England squad for the upcoming Under 19s Women’s T20 World Cup in Nepal and Bangladesh.

Andrews came through the Derbyshire system before joining The Blaze, signing her first professional deal this summer and helping the Trent Bridge side to win the 2026 Vitality Blast trophy.

She has been on-loan with the Falcons Women in each of the last two seasons, when not featuring for The Blaze, playing her part in three wins this summer. The 18-year-old was a non-travelling reserve for the World Cup squad in 2025, but has made the full squad list this time around.

Following a series of training camps in the UK, the squad will travel to take part in a five-match T20 series against India in November/December 2026, and at its completion they will remain in India for a further week to continue their outdoor preparations for the ICC tournament in January/February 2027.
