Derbyshire fast bowler, Pat Brown, has signed a one-year contract extension with the Club.
Brown, 27, has not featured for the Falcons in 2026 due to a shoulder injury sustained while on duty with England Lions in the winter of 2025.
Despite his fitness struggles, Brown was ever-present in the 2025 Vitality Blast campaign, picking up 12 wickets, before twice undergoing surgery.
A Vitality Blast winner, with four England caps to his name, Brown is known for his high pace, variations and devastating slower balls. He has claimed 34 wickets in 26 T20s for the Falcons, while he also has a List A five-wicket haul to his name.
His deal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but Brown will continue his rehabilitation over the winter with a view to being fit for the 2027 season.
Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “When fit and firing, Pat Brown is among the best T20 bowlers this country has to offer, it’s what earned him international caps and we missed his death bowling in this summer’s Vitality Blast.
“The Pat Brown our supporters saw in 2025 was not a true reflection of the player, but it was a reflection of the person he is that Pat was still running in as hard as he could, even though he was struggling with his shoulder.
“Pat will continue his rehab with our medical team and we look forward to having him back in 2027, when he can remind everyone exactly what he can do.”
Brown added: “I’m pleased to have extended my contract with Derbyshire for the 2027 season.
“After a difficult period with injury, I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch next summer and hopefully contributing towards a successful season for the club.”
